The Path of Totality

Hail Brave Hearts

April 8, 2024 will gift some of us with a rare, celestial occurrence, a total eclipse of the sun.

Although eclipses occur about once every eighteen months, the moon’s orbital path changes to such an extent, that it only follows the same path, about once every three hundred and sixty to four hundred and ten years.  The moon, the sun and the Earth are all slightly tipped, so the moon travels around the Earth in a slightly different path, each orbit and  is seen in a slightly different location, in the sky, with each passing.  Most of the time, the eclipse occurs over the Earth’s oceans, so, although it occurs with a frequency, it is not easily viewed from land.  The April 8, 2024 total eclipse of the sun will be seen in North American, throughout the United States and in Southern Canada and Newfoundland.  Some of the other parts of the country, will experience a partial eclipse of the sun, where the moon will darken only a portion of the sun.  In a total eclipse, the moon will darken the sun entirely and the Earth will have no sunlight at all.  In a partial eclipse, the moon passes over only a section of the sun and only partial darkness occurs.

In these eclipses, the moon passes between the sun and the Earth, blocking out the sun’s rays to the Earth and causing darkness. Due to the high speed which the moon travels, the eclipse usually lasts only a few minutes, but has been recorded as lasting up to seven and a half minutes.  The solar eclipse only occurs during eclipse season.  This is when the sun is in either the ascending or descending stage of the moon.

Total solar eclipse: Who will be able to see it, when is it and why does it happen? (youtube.com)

The first recording of a total eclipse of the sun is in either 1375 or 1223 BC, in what is present day Syria.  Astronomers have chosen to prefer the second date.

Astronomers chart the movement of celestial objects and are able to forecast the locations of the sun, the moon and the Earth.  With this information they are able to give a prediction of the whereabouts of these sky objects and when and where the next eclipse will appear.  The April 8, 2024 is a solar eclipse.  A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the moon and the sun and prevents the sun’s rays from illuminating the moon.  The moon darkens for a few minutes, while the Earth passes by.

Although this is an exciting event to witness, it is necessary to take precautions, during the viewing, of this phenomena.  The sun’s light is so bright that if it is directly viewed by the human eye, it can cause blindness.  The retina has no sense of pain and therefore there is no warning as to the injury to the eye.  It might take several hours, before eye injury is noticed.  This eye injury is irreversible.  Protective shields and eyewear must be worn so that the sun doesn’t cause eye damage.

However, if you have the ability to witness this event, take advantage of it, with precautions.  This might be your only opportunity to witness this rare event.

That Awesome Rainy Day

That Awesome Rainy Day

Hail Brave Hearts

It’s a stormy day with the thunder crackling.  Lightning lights up the sky and the torrents of rain fall heavily.  Lucky us.  The rain with it’s magical nutrition, watering all of the earth.   A day when we can pass on watering the outdoor flowers and lawn and let nature take control and provide the much needed moisture.  Fabulous rain, taking that chore off our hands and providing a day of indoor retreat instead.

It’s a delightful day of inside pleasure.  The canning, pickling and jam making is on the list.  Pies, muffins, breads and cookies all come to mind.    It’s a wonderful day of baking and cooking, sewing and playing board games.  Inside goodness awaits us, while the rain falls and takes the stifling heat from the air, bringing cooler weather for different activities.  Run like the wind, cycle the roads and trails, the cool will only last for a few days, before the summertime heat sends us back to the beach to play.

Meanwhile, the house fills with the smells of fresh baked pies.  These rainy days are filled with blessings.  No more need to run to the beach to catch that last swim in the lake before dark.  Today is the rainy day of thunderstorm pleasure, when we reach for the recipe books and head to the larder.  These are the fabulous days, when there’s no place like home.

The berry patch has been abundant this year and the freezer has been filling with a variety of garden choices.  The delectable treats oozing with goodness, waiting to be consumed.  The baking tins come out of hiding, being prepared for the best of the best in garden baking.  Raspberry, white chocolate comes to mind.  These are the days of the happy chef and the smiling participants in the joy of cooking.  Lovely. It’s always clever to keep a supply of garden goodness for those rainy days.

Let it pour.  Let the rains come down in buckets.  Let the Earth take care of the watering and let the plants soak up the goodness of the water.  Let it rain, so that puddles form and the water splashes on our rain boots.  The thunder rolls in, lightning lights up the sky.  The heavens display a crackling of light and sound.  There’s an awesome display of power in thunder and lightning that sends a communication of awe in the uncontrolled weather.  Dark clouds billowing, rain descending.

Lucky are we to have a fine shelter, with garden delights to occupy our days.  There’s so much indoor goodness to attend to.  These chores are not chores.  These are a special gift of time.  A time when being forced to flee the inclement weather is a fine gift of welcome time.  Time to spend on the pantry.  Tine to fill up the cookie jar and prepare the fine feast.  Time to sew that garment and make gifts for our friends and loved ones.

That welcome storm.  The Earth needs the nutrients of the water and we need to rest and refresh ourselves.  Baking, sewing, spa.  It’s a rainy day.   A day for a treat.

A New Age is Dawning

Hail Brave Hearts

As peace keepers and pathfinders, your quest for adventure has summoned you into the world.  A world filled with strife, disease and difficulties this year.  A world that shuns us and forbids us to travel.  Stay home, brave hearts. Stay home and be well.  Stay home and be healthy.  2021 promises to be a better year.

Fortunately, a fabulous planetary shift is about to occur.  The great conjunction of 2020 will see Saturn and Jupiter in an alignment that will bring in an astrological change of immense proportions.  Finally, Saturn and Jupiter will shift into the astrological sign of Aquarius and bring in a brand new age.  An age that we haven’t seen in over 50 years.  Although Saturn and Jupiter align every 20 years or so, they have been fading into earth signs.  This year will be different.  This year, the great conjunction of 2020 will pass into an air sign, the zodiac sign of Aquarius.

A new age is dawning in this astrological alignment.  Jupiter and Saturn will meet in Aquarius and herald in the new age of Aquarius.  Songs have been written, sung and performed.  Aquarius is praiseworthy as is brings enlightenment, inspiration, new energy, creativity and imagination.  The cosmos will be interacting differently in our lives and the planetary interactions will give us a new focus.  It will give us a new purpose, a change in thinking.  The power of Jupiter in this sign, brings inner peace, humanitarianism, fulfillment, balance and harmony.  The power of Saturn is self discipline,  wisdom.

These combined forces will help us to embark on a new path of community, of social connectedness and awareness.  The world will move from it’s focus on materialism to a path of humanity, caring for the world and it’s people.  This change in planetary influence will shift our attitudes and guide us for another 200 years.

The Great Conjunction: Jupiter and Saturn Align in Aquarius December 2020

The Christmas Star

Hail Brave Hearts

There’s still time.  Time to sing, time to play, time for hope, time to pray.  The season of merriment and joy is with us.  Gladness and goodwill to share, is among us.  Rejoice, oh great human.  The world is still full of adventure and promise, discovery and fulfillment.  There is still time to enjoy the goodness that life brings.

In the dead of winter, there is great joy.  Look to the heavens for the sign of your saviour.  His mark is in the sky.  A rare event of celestial proportions rises in the night sky on December 21, 2020.  A year that has been marked by pandemic, disease, isolation, poverty,  death and despair.  How obvious, oh shiny star, to light up the night sky this year.  How obvious, oh shiny star to lead us once again.

The planets of Saturn and Jupiter will align to this degree, for the first time in 800 years.  Celestial configurations occur frequently, but this planetary alignment is a  precious sight.   As Jupiter and Saturn meet in the south westerly sky, shortly after sunset on December 21, we will see the bright, shiny star of Christmas.  Perhaps not the brilliant star that guided the wise men to Bethlehem, but still it is a Christmas star.  A star to light up our lives and a star to wish upon.

https://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/planets/great-conjunction

This year has been a difficult one, full of disease and disaster.  The world has been somewhat chaotic in environmental  disaster, pandemic  virus, economic doom.  Our guiding light has been our ability to meet virtually on computer screens and cellphones which keep us connected to our friends and loved ones.  Lockdown has been the message of choice, to control a health crisis which has escalated beyond our control.  As fabulous as we are, we are only mortal.

The power of prayer is upon us.  Store after store closes, awaiting a shift to normal business hours.  Awaiting a vaccine to cure this pandemic and to praise the magnificent, once again.  Save us!  Save us, you mighty minds, we know that you know how to.  Bankruptcy looms in the despair of a command.  Stay home!  Once again, we are shut in.  Shut in, closed off, with few social contacts and no gatherings.

Shine, oh great magnificent light!  Shine and bring us Christmastime!  Shine oh holy light, the light of our life, oh star of Bethlehem.  Shine.

Although the Bethlehem star is still not really explained, since there have been other conjunctions which produce a great, shiny light in the sky.  This one that we will be witnessing on December 21, 2020, this  winter’s solstice, will be the brightest that we will be able to see.  The timing is perfect.  It is Christmas.  The vaccine has started to arrive.  We will become well again, venture out again, rejoice again.  Glad tidings to you and yours during this very difficult time, but it is passing.  This Christmas star might not herald in a new savior, but it will bring in a new astrological shift.  Coincidentally?  Perhaps.  The mysterious night sky and the the heavens bring in a new age in 2021.  Behold, a new age is dawning.  The age of Aquarius.

Gods in the Sky

Hail all you Bravehearts

Behold, the wonders of my world!  My sanctuary in space, my all inspiring earth bound place, the dwelling places of the Gods.  Temples and ruins, churches and quiet places, dancing star light, and surreal sunsets, glowing orbs of flashing light, the twinkling universe and the night.  The Gods reside in special places, earthbound homes and terrestrial constellations, the almighty ones of power speak to us.  Wisdom and kindness, softly spoken whispers, we bend our ears to hear them, speak oh glorious ones, we listen.

From planetary messages, the mystics advise us.  Daily rituals of written forecasts, advice from the heaves, beware.  Live wisely, live well, eat healthy, grow strong, dance, play and pray, teach and be taught, the messages reveal the beauty of you, love one another. Of healthy lives and wholesome living the star chart is a planetary life guide.  Based on your star sign, oh children of the Gods, listen to it’s wisdom.

Ancient are we, the Gods of the heavens, skilled and brave, powerful and almighty, we speak to our children with voices of clarity.  The all seeing eyes of the planetary visionaries, directing and persuading, influencing our lives.  Listen, they tell us special things about ourselves, love and be loved, care and be cared for, live and let live.  We are all children of the mighty universe, captives held meekly in this special earth place.  All of us entrusted to a God of divine inspiration,  who casts it’s special spell on the person it seeks.  Who are we to be?  almighty Ones.  They answer in their own mysterious ways.

We are the Gods of heavenly creation, mythical and mysterious, our shining lights will guide you.  We are the stories of awe and inspiration, the earthly human Gods of the sky.  We are the gods who roamed the earth, who flew on mythical beasts and fought with great power the evils of that day.  We are the gods who shined so brightly, that the stars themselves, captured us as our spirits drifted away. Heavenly beings, residing on mountain tops, glistening in beauty, brilliance and power.  We are the gods of the ancients, controlling and commanding our superiority unmatched.  Our rights are infinite, our supremacy is real, still swirling in stardust, our legacy remains.  Not to be forgotten, we remain in the sky, here in the brilliance of the universe, our lives live on forever.

We are the almighty ones, strong and brave, look heavenwards, oh brave hearts.  Our lives are still living, we speak and you hear us, in astrological forecasting, heed us.  Know who you are, your own special talents, know your fine aptitude and  don’t be afraid.  The Earth is still turning, the world still evolving, the great human race has a devil to chase.  Heed the warnings, use your great minds, not just for yourselves, but for all of humankind.  One aptitude or another, we need them all, the glorious almighty, put gifts in each one.

In an earthly body, with an earthly mind, pursue your special place here, all humankind.
