A Rose is a Rose

Hail Bravehearts

Ah, the goodness, the welcome delight, a fresh backyard garden to enjoy and delight.  Flowers with fragrance fill the air, with sweet summer scents, to draw you back there.  A rose is a dainty, admired for it’s beauty, but beneath that colorful coat, lies a secret kept neatly.  It’s worth in it’s petals fill the air, with  a scent so aromatic we gather it with care.  Brilliant on it’s stem, it holds it’s head brightly, filling it’s container with blossoms, so sprightly.  Gathering the petals, so soft to the touch, for a dainty delicacy, there’s not very much.

An added abundance to fill the larder, flowers are growing, but the work is much harder.  Smaller and precious, they fill their space, with fragrance, color, and beauty in their place.  Dainty and delightful, smelling so divine, I pluck the petals that grow on the vine.  The air in the house is sweet perfume, and extracting the essential oils clutters the room.

The recipes prove, there are plenty of us, gathering flowers, for their values is a must.  We eat the good ones, gathered with care, to try a dish of culinary rare.  Some salads, some biscuits, some chocolate too, a craving of harvesting a plant or two.  This sweet tart taste is the treat of the day, we sit and enjoy rose petal sorbet.

The gathering of flowers, even the dead headed ones, is as fragrant and blissful as these moments become.  A headful of perfume, as the passing rose, still lingers its fragrance in my nose.  The smell lingers in the air, aromatherapy is here, I wake each morning to it’s presence so dear.  Lovely to look at, delightful to hold, there’s something special about the rose.

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day

Hail Bravehearts

With thanks, we give praises to this special day.  To the finest, the most wonderful, the dreamiest and the most courageous.  Thanks to all of you, you special mothers. This is the day to celebrate you. Beautiful you.  Oh wonderful you.

The patches on my jeans, the warm woolly sweater, the cozy knit blanket, the floral arrangement and the pie.  I just love pie!  Fresh berries from the garden, homemade jam and apple pie, cookies in the cookie jar, and roast beef in the oven.  The smells of home and cooking, perfume is in the air.  We always know where mother is, her hand is everywhere.

Shops full of shopping, restaurants galore, our home and closets, rival those, with skills we all adore.  Homemade ornaments for the Christmas tree, new recipes to try.  Our budget is the windfall of dollars set aside.  The beauticians all know us, we frequent their abode, to cut and curl and streak our hair, for parties, gatherings and potlucks for the road.  Glamour is our style, we wear the trendiest designs.  Our look is always current, from our latest shopping spree.  We look so bedazzling, we rival the Christmas tree.

Polished nails and body wraps, massage and yoga tights.  Our bodies are our temples, fit, sleek and just right.  No attitude of worry,  fret or fear to linger.  We always are most charming, with smiles, hugs and cheer.  Be proud of us, we are mighty, the hand that rocks the cradle.  Great gifts to those we love, are given, as much as we are able.  To raise a child is easy, just always look your best.  A child is a delight to us, from heaven, the stork, or wherever babies come from.  Just make them all some pie, serve them some desert, after all, you are their mother, you always know best.

Little einstein is a wonder child, after all, he comes from you.  The family fortune just increased, with achievements, success and medals.  Keeping spirits up and enthusiasm high, is just another moment.  Sweet encouragement spills from your lips as easy as breathing a name.

The sun will shine, the birds will sing, the day will bring you flowers, for all of us have just one thing in common, we all have come from mothers.  The day grows long, the life is dear, it’s poetry in motion.  To watch or mothers make our beds and tuck us under the covers.  Sweet dreams of childhood, blessings dear, those days in hug wrapped comfort.  To be spoiled with love and kindness, is to have a mother.

Joy is the word, on this special day.  For kindness, love and giving, is the way, mothers earn a living.  Blessings are the children, they are always joy and pride.  A family with good intentions, will stay together and survive.  A mother is a beauty, she smiles and welcomes us home.  This comforting place of human space, is the nurturing place called home.

Happy BioDiversity

Happy BioDiversity

Hail, you almighty ones

Welcome to this day.  The world sings in praises of a great marine mammal.  Hail, to you, for the acknowledgement.

Wonderful world for the brilliance of diversity, of bio diversity, of the protection of ecologically sensitive species and areas.  Wonderful world for its rare and special places, for species adapted to unusual survival, to survival skills of unique and unusual specifications.  To the awesome great planet for its creativity and power.

Lucky you, you awesome human, to inherit such a wonderful world.

Your duty surrounds you, nurture and care.  Be it the small, tiny grain of wheat, that nourishes you, the flour of sustenance, the bread of sustainability.  Your crops from fertile soil, your harvest,  your life support, your energy.

Relax into the cool, tranquil waters that sooth  your body and your mind.  Relax into the sweet sunshine, where daydreams emerge and freedom promises it’s escape.  Relax into the heavenly sounds and aromas of the great planet, fill your ears, your eyes and your minds with wonder.  Awesome planet, it’s ours for the saving.

There are many blessed days, many blessed times and moments.  The wonder of creation captures us and holds us spellbound in it’s splendor.  The unusual, the rare, that special exclusive place, worry free and divine.

Rest your weary souls, your weary minds, your hearts and your bodies, in this captivating world of the great divine.  Listen to the heartbeat of the planet as it beats its rhythm of joy to you.  Joy of living, joy of purpose, joy of creativity and knowledge.  Hear us, calls the mighty planet, as it sings it’s songs of joy to you.  Almighty human, tread with care, these are my offspring too.

The mightiness of adoration, as the world turns and challenges us.  Another species, rare and fine, protect us.  Find joy and comfort, peace and harmony, share the goodwill.  Your mind and spirit relax in the oasis of comfort.  A lounge chair by the water.

Water and lakes, pools and oceans, sleep and relax in your dreamy time.

Tiny crustaceans come out to play.  Shells sparkle in the sunshine, the winter’s cold rushes away and the sun warms you and keeps you well.

It’s a national day.  A day for reflection and action, a day to notice and to fight.  This great planet belongs to us, not to plunder, but to enjoy, not to pillage, but to sing about.

Fabulous earth sounds echo in our ears.  Winds of winter with warm escapes.  Oceans of wonder with species galore.  Hail to the almighty planet, wherever in the world you come from.

The richness of biodiversity greets us at our doorsteps.  Creatures of magnitude, great and small, all playing their necessary part in the ever evolving world of change.  Speak to us, oh great masters of the universe, speak to us, as the Earth creates again.  The evolution of millenia.  The tides roll in, the snow falls, change and change again.

Reach out your hand and touch it.  Don’t let it pass you by.  Hold onto that dream, of relief from the storm, of days of paradise, where the world is peaceful.  Hold on to those species as unique and special as those places are.  The great divine, the fabulous world , the magical planet, for you, for me and for eternity.
