Is It a Calendar?

Is It a Calendar?

Good morning, all of you brilliant ones

Today is one of our solstice days.  A day of long summers light and warm summer sunshine.  Today, we discover our ancient past and peek into the lives of an ancient people.

Hail bravehearts.  Come to Canada!

Come to a land of intrigue and mystery.  A land of ancient people living in conjunction with ancient peoples all over the world.  Come to a land of discovery, where the early aboriginals rival the intellect of peoples world wide.  Come to Canada where the ancient world is opening it’s doors and showing itself as a marvel of ancient wonder.

Some call it a medicine wheel, some call it glaciation, but another scientist has researched the site and credits it as a  huge sun temple.

5000 years ago on the plains of southern Alberta, the ancient Oxbow people gathered their strength and might and formed a huge circle of stones, 26 square kilometers wide, with features that represent the sun, the crescent moon and the morning star. This vast calendar was placed by them, as a means to view the changing seasons and to watch the moon phases.   These ancient people, built their vast temple from stones with a similarity to, but 700 years older than the Stonehenge site in England.

The still evolving discovery of this place is being researched, with pictures catalogued to prove the possibility of a calendar, which marked the changing season and the changes in the moon phases, as light is cast upon the Earth.  Ancient man, trying to tell the time and to prove the date, the length of a year, the changes in light in each season for the hours in a day, the number of days in a year, so that they can predict the seasons which is so important to their survival.

This particular area of Alberta is known for ancient and prehistoric life, being in the vicinity of the dinosaur dig as well.

More National Dreams

Good morning you awesome human.

So the world turns in it’s mysterious ways and the rights to wealth are bestowed upon those who were lucky. Their qualifications in tourism, at a moment in time, when the world was young and waiting to be discovered. The railway across the country had been completed, and the west was a destination for eager world travelers, who needed new experiences and challenges. The awesome beauty of the mountains and the legacy of adventure that they contain, enticed the inspired traveler to a destination of joy. Rugged adventure, pristine environments, wildlife and mountain climbing, splendid views of previously unseen, grand landscapes. Unknown waters and lakes, valleys and mountains. Unnamed plants and flowers, to be drawn and catalogued. The mountains enticed the privileged, the educated, the adventurer, the fortune hunter and the tourist. All so eagerly swarming to the newly formed national park.
Banff was an island of tourist fortune. A small, 26 square kilometer haven of environmental integrity. The Cave and Basin hot springs, a discovery of international acclaim, lay at the heart of what became a thriving tourist meca of natural wealth and resource.
The players in this wondrous venture, earned their rights to business enterprise and fortune. To this day, the legacy of these people, carve a niche in the thriving Alberta landscape. Here, in the far west is a land of stunning contrast. Superb vistas at high mountain altitudes. Rolling foothills to endless prairie. Wildlands and badlands, pond to desert, dinosaurs to buffalo jump, the great Alberta land has it all.

The pioneers of the day, brought with them, horsemanship. Cowboys and outfitters, explorers and ranchers, the relentless invasion of the great wild, brought wealth and delight. More dreams, more daring, more farming and tourism. The pioneer of the time dared to demand the promise of hard work and success, of grand ventures and great achievement. To dare the dream of thriving in a new land, with new promise of great success. The venture into a national park system for Canada, was new to the young country. Only ten years old and Canada was carving her niche in environmental conservation policy. A legacy that would become a grand oasis of national parks, historical sites and marine conservation areas, setting aside vast tracts of land in this brave new world.
From small beginnings, come great achievements and the accomplishment of the national park system is still an ongoing and ever expanding development of national heritage. From the wonder of that tiny animal, born in the great wild, to the wonder of an awesome view from the top of a high mountain peak, the land and it’s fantasy draw us to it.
Dreams of adventure, of exploration, of athletic pursuits, of videos and photographs, of roadside wonder and scenic drives. Who saw that mountain top and claimed first prize? Only you. For each of us that ventures in to the national dream of national parks views that superb landscape from the eyes of the early pioneer. Untouched, still unspoiled, the precious dream lives on.

A nomination for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award

A nomination for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Very Inspiring Blogger Award

veryinspiringbloggeraward

Thank you to Gator Woman @ Very Inspiring Blogger Award (walkingwiththealligators.wordpress.com) for her generous nomination.  She has just won this prestigious award herself, for her continued efforts on behalf of the wild kingdom.  Inspiring indeed and a kindred spirit in the path that leads us to the speak for peace and preservation. I am honoured that you have chosen to nominate me and that you continue to read my words.

My blog is about my passions.  History, art, conservation, gardens, beauty and us, the human.  Our role and how we live it.  How joyous we are for the life that inspires us and the privilege to be the almighty human. That wondrous mankind.  The beauty of the Earth and the great good Earth, our home and our salvation.  Lucky are we to be the privileged inhabitants of this planet.

Thank you to Gator Woman for her constant comments, for her encouragement and her praise.

I live in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada.  The splendor of the view, the immaculate environment, the daily wildlife sightings, the privilege to have the honour of residency.

I work for the department of the environment, Parks Canada.

I have many passions but one of my favourites is to revitalize the past and to bring the lives of our ancestors forward as living, breathing, brilliant mankind.

I love gardens.

Hiking the trails takes me on a path of sound, sight, smell and quiet.  The constant calm, the great peace.  The peace of 500 year old man who settled with trade, pride and compassion.  The land of plenty.  The peace of 1000 year old man, who touched the soil and sailed away.  The peace of prehistory man who claimed the continent from north to south and thrived.

I love art.  It’s creative ingenuity and random precision are a curious combination.

The Earth for all that it gives us.  So much joy, so much wonder, it never ends.

The human, destinies unfold, brilliant mankind for all of the wonders of your mind.

Here are my favourites.  They reach out to that part of me that yearns for completion. (more aptitude and knowledge than I have)  Save us , almighty Earth.

The Race

The Race

http://www.bjr.ca/

Feel the power!  It courses through your veins and propels you onward.  The power, the strength, the might, the stamina.  Practice, practise, practise.  It echoes through your head and swells in your mind.  Breathe!

As you meditate in that quiet place in your mind, as you relax into the challenge ahead, your mind is all of it.  You are the champion.

Time after time, day after day, you have struggled tor this day.  This one day.  This awesome day.

http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=banff+national+park&qpvt=banff+national+park&FORM=IGRE

It unfolds as the adventure of your life.

Each decision you make, each step you take, each breath you breathe, takes you closer, closer to that dream, that goal, that  definition.  You are the champion.

Breathe and relax.  Your body propels you forward.  The rhythmic conditioned response from a brain well trained and a body self fulfilling.  Step after step you feel the power.  Repeat, repeat, repeat. Onward you fly.  Your loose, conditioned body flies along the ground, it soars to the call.  Yes, it responds, I can, I will!

The challenge is easy, the pace is set.  It’s sustainable for the duration and there is more.  More strength from this well trained body, more determination  from this well trained mind. The focus is clear.  Relax and enjoy.  The power will take you there.

Step, step, step.  Run!  Your body cries out to you with gladness.  Thank you for this great day!  Thank you for health, vitality, fitness, strength, passion and might.   This strong, athletic body feels the pace, it feels its training.  Bold, courageous mind, in meditative focus.  The pain is gone, only the life form remains.

Mankind, the adventurer was built for exercise like this.  This is the conditioning of the human body.  This is the will of the human mind.  To  focus on this task, to set your mind for this goal.

Feel the power, feel the strength, feel the ease of motion, the propulsion forward.  The constant fluidity of the body, form, style, reach.  Each stride takes you closer and closer to the goal.  Each movement a conditioned response from a focused mind.  Breathe!  The tension releases and your body excels.   It soothes and awakens your spirit.  It soars!  The passion of the race, the properly conditioned body, the intelligent, astute mind.  All in one direction, all for one purpose, all for one destiny.

You are the champion.  This is your great day.

Heal champion!  Heal the fatigue, heal the soreness.  Each step is a moment of glory.  A moment of self fulfillment.   Be the prophecy!  Be the strength that carries on.  Onward, onward, your goal to healthful living, to healing, to longevity, to life everlasting.

Step, step, step.  Your routine call to accept this challenge.  This is might, this is power, this is courage.  Relentless body that will not quit.  Relentless mind that will not give up.  Push to achieve.  Strive to achieve.  Be the achieved!

This is not too much for you.  This is all within the realms of your abilities.  Passionate mind, perfect body, fluid and comfortable.  This is your day.  An awesome day.  A day for a test, a challenge.  A day for you, almighty human.  Run!  Run like the wind.  Sing your own gladsome song. Propel your self onward.  Go!  Stride, pace, challenge.  It’s all for you.  It’s all about you.

Today, you are a champion.
