To a new land

To a new land

Hail Brave hearts!

Brilliant mankind, the oasis of a new world calls to you. Venture for, almighty human. Cross the land bridge to the new world.
The age of discovery is always upon us. A new world, just to explore. The ability to survive in worlds unknown is the aptitude of the adventurer.
Brave hearts, calls the great planet, venture forth and thousands of years ago, they did. Into the wild unknown of a land of Alaska, a small group of people lived for thousands of years before the glaciers melted enough for them to move onward.
Human habitation of the far north of continental North America occurred thousands of years prior to the discovery of land beneath the ice and snow of the last great glacial period. Canada was virtually covered in ice and human habitation was impossible.
The far north, where it all began.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Nations

As the icecaps melted and receded, the path to lands further south opened to their eyes. Follow, calls the great planet, come to explore and almighty man, the human, travels further into the continent. Further into the unknown, further away from the ancestral lands of their heritage. Following the paths of wild animals, hunting and building and discovering the new world.
The human of post glacial times is the mankind of our world today. Whatever drives mankind to explore, to venture forth, to enhance their skills, to found new nations, is the same mankind that travelled by foot, or perhaps by boat, down coastal North America, to conquer a brave new world.
Travel and exploration, for curiosity, for their governments, for plunder. The continent of the Americas 20000 years ago was as remote to humans as the ocean depths.
Still, the exploration is necessary. Bravehearts, you must go. You must colonize the new world. Take with you all of your skills, your fine aptitudes, your belongings, your philosophies, your peoples. Follow the path to your dreams!
Along the way, these brave new settlers encountered a different land. Their perspectives changed, they developed new theories, new culture, new philosophy. The land was immense. There was plenty. Plenty to adapt to, plenty to think about, plenty to inspire and to challenge their resourcefulness. Brilliant mankind of ancient past, you are always with us. You are with us in this new world, in your discovery, in your skills and fine minds.
The adventurer of the past left it all behind, for whatever reason, known only to them, to push forth as the ancient Vikings did, as the Europeans did, as the Pilgrims did.
The human, you awesome mankind, open doors for yourselves.
The path to prosperity leads you onward. Travel south to more land, more wealth, lives of your own making.
As the glaciers receded what did they leave behind? Typically glacial moraine, rivers, crevases, valleys, waterfalls. A harsh climate for a braveheart, but travel and settle, they did. Onward, almighty man. To your own conquest, to your own challenge, to your own peace.

Early Man

Hail Bravehearts

Today is the day that dreams are made of. New life, new hope, new adventure, a daring new world of hope and promise. The bravest and the most daring venture forth to share the land with peoples of diligence and fortitude. A habituated land of congenial peoples who cleverly negotiated a peace amongst themselves for their own survival and mutual prosperity.
Hail, bravehearts, to come to this great land, this continent of the Americas, to build dreams, fortunes, life, liberty. A land worth fighting for, a freedom worth their daring lives. Come to the Americas! Venture forth to colonise!
The aboriginal peoples of the land accepted the new immigrants, generally with the quiet acceptance of negotiation and peaceful interchange.
Who were these early peoples? They saved so many lives with their skills and knowledge?
Where do you come from, you daring brave souls of the almighty human?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aboriginal_peoples_in_Canada

The historical evidence indicates a migration from Asia across the short straight which is now separating Russia from Alaska. Nomadic peoples following migrating animals crossed the land mass which joined Russia to Alaska, into the far north of continental North America.
12000 years of history of human habitation in Alaska. The receding glaciers allowed for human occupancy in a snow free Alaska. As the glaciers receded the early people migrated further south into a land now known as Canada. The aboriginal peoples have resided in this land for so long, thousands of years, that their cultural identity is with North America.
Today, they identify themselves as First Nations, the first peoples of Canada.

http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/pn-np/yt/kluane/index.aspx

Into the land they came, through a new landscape carved from retreating glaciers. The land was immense, the obstacles difficult, the terrain sometimes impassable. Yet, the early settlers persisted in the wild north of unconquered land and pursued their fate to lands unknown. What was the call, oh brave heart? To satisfy the longing of curiosity, of adventure, of ambition? Nomadic peoples following game, in search of tribal lands, looking for peaceful relief from war faring neighbours? Survival in a land of mountains, ice and forest, with wit and cunning minds for survival. To overcome the climate, the landscape the wildlife and to live.
Bravo, brave hunter, to travel so far, to make this place your home. Through the massive tracts of northern wilderness to occupy territories of more habitable climate, the pressure to move on and to explore on continued. The human. The adventurer. The quest for exploration. Did they really come here merely to survive or was the daunting quest of pre history, the same quest of the human spirit as the driving force within us now? They could see that land, the continents were attached. It compels us. What lies beyond?
Oh great human, nothing goes unexplored. To travel across the land bridge out of necessity, out of curiosity, out of free will? To meet the challenge of adventure?
Gifted almighty human, with your strength and perseverance. Into the great land mass, to survive.

The earth breathes the oxygen of the air that it creates from it’s splendid plant life and envelopes itself in a cover of protection called the ozone layer.
The water that we drink is full of nutrients. The water itself sustaining so much life. The life of oceans, rivers, lakes, cities, towns, forests and pasture. Water for life. Drink the pure water, it runs in our veins and keeps us alive. Us and the planet.
Breathe the fresh air. The necessary oxygen fills our lungs, our bodies and our minds. Fresh air for our brains and bodies. Fresh air for the living creatures of the planet and fresh air for the planet itself.
The earth breathes, through its thousands of trees, it’s lush forests and its innumerable plant life.
The living Earth with it’s life forms, sings the daily concerts of the joy of creation. Live, almighty human, calls the joyful planet. Hear us as we reach out to you. The crickets, the frogs, the birds the wolves. The call of the planet reaches to you, in the buzzing of bees, the whispers of the wind and the scented gardens of meadow flowers.

Take Flight

Take Flight

Good morning brave hearts.
The cooler fall air reminds the birds of the season of change. They call to each other to gather around. Come near! they sing. They clamour together and fill the trees, calling for each and every one of them to join the flock. It is fall. Time to move south.
The birds natural inclination to move to warmer climates, brings the masses of migrating birds together. The gregarious birds fly together for protection and flight paths. They keep each other in sight, the older ones, showing the way to the younger ones the way, the strong leading the weak. The birds will travel hundreds of kilometers in search of new food sources, shelter, homes and habitats.
The skies fill with the wonder of migration.
The long flight to ponds and forests in far off places. Will they still be there for the birds? Will those protected places that the wildlife need so badly for survival still exist? One more year of environmental protection, one more year of the survival of so many species.
Thousands fly south to warm climates, their small bodies too fragile for cold temperatures and as the leaves turn colour and fall, the protection of the trees vanishes. The winds are strong and the birds take flight to escape.
Will they return?
We protect our own forests for the salvation of the planet, air, weather, for us, for wildlife and for beauty. The forest provides a beautiful backdrop to our lives. The gracious trees, home to many animals, insects and birds provide homes, shelter from the elements, wind, sun and rain and food.
The brave birds fly on a course to the unknown. They will winter wherever they can find food and shelter. Wherever the compassionate human has protected them and the environments that they need for survival. Parklands, forests, back yards with shrubs and trees.
The migration is a marvel of distance and stamina.
How many will come back to us?
The quiet of autumn fills our ears as the chattering birds leave us behind.
The monarch butterflies have already gone on their long flight to Mexico.
http://www.monarch-butterfly.com/
Hibernating animals dig into the earth for their long winters sleep and ponds become quiet.
Trees shed their leaves in preparation for their own winters sleep.
The land is changing. The scattered seeds of summer plants find resting places in the soil. New life for next year.
Prepare for winter, it will come soon.
The peaceful land keeps us busy with fall harvest. Hay for the livestock, fall fruits and vegetables for us. The farmers markets swell with food and our own food baskets are heavy.
The earth saves us once again.

Solstice

Solstice

Hail Brave hearts!

It’s officially fall. The autumn colours of the landscape are changing and a new brilliant hue of colour is upon us. This almighty man, is the land of our forefathers. The land of pristine beauty, of awesome wonder, of dreams fulfilled, of courageous challenge. A land for bold and daring adventure, a life of freedom. A new way, a new path to follow a new quest.
Here, almighty man, is the great land! All of your strength, all of your courage, all of your skills, all of your brilliance and all of your compassion.
Fine negotiator who accepted cultural diversity and multiculturalism as a natural human condition. Fine negotiator, whose attempts to assimilate brought peace and prosperity to the land. Clever peacemaker who spied an opportunity and felt a responsibility to save.
Save us! Called the dying as they slipped away. The path to prosperity was too difficult and too isolated.
Compassionate human, who lived so well, with such apparent ease, with prosperity, luxury and time for leisure pursuits. Art, games, athletics, tests of skills and feats of daring.
This is the new world. Lucky are we to be the fortunate ancestors of accepted mankind in a world so daunting and dangerous.
The pristine wilderness unfolds before us and calls it endless call to follow. Come, great human, into the great wild, whispers the forest, sings the rivers and howls the wind. Experience this peace and hear our song, we sing to you mankind, freedom!
Freedom! It echoed in the ears of our forefathers as they arrived by the boatload to inhabit a land of unknown challenges. A promise of lives fulfilled, dreams come true, plenty for all. The negotiated peace brought with it nation building, agriculture, economics, land, contentment and relaxation. Escape to the new world.
Gone was the overburdening landlord and the endless struggle against taxation. The homesteaders came to farm the land and now there is a harvest. It is fall, the colours are changing, the fruit is ripening, the food is abundant.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homesteading
http://www.motherearthnews.com/homesteading-and-livestock/living-the-good-life-zm0z12aszkon.aspx
Still, in our modern homes, we hear the voices of wisdom persistently nudging us. Move forward, brilliant human, but keep the past with you. Don’t forget your daring ancestors, that brave wilderness birth, the fear, the sorrow, the overwhelming pain. Don’t forget us mankind. Don’t leave the past behind. Remember the great peace that saved us and that is our duty to retain. The great peace, in a world of hardship, with a call to duty to overcome the challenges, inhabit all of the land, build a civilization, farm the land, be the almighty human! No so, bravehearts. Without the great peace, all would be lost.
Now, in this time of joy, when the crops are harvested, food is plenty, the winter is cared for, survival is promised. Now we rejoice in the autumn, with it’s changing colours, it’s cooler temperatures, it’s gifts from the earth.
The animals mate and they too will survive. The great earth, full of miracles, provides again.

Paint your palet

Paint your palet

Still the wild calls us. It’s perfect hues. It calls to our instincts, our passions and our joy.
Here, almighty man, whispers the forest. Come walk my trails, into the secrets of my wooded landscapes. It is autumn and my continually changing attire is now ablaze in fall colour. My own berry harvest is ripe and ready. I fed your ancestors, they walked these trails, full of purpose and determination. Yes, mankind, you will survive. The negotiated peace prevails and you, brilliant one, have achieved your goal.
Your goal to prosperity, to the rugged landscape, to the great wild, to the pursuit of inner peace.
Hail, almighty man, for the great negotiation of a multi culture society.
The great Earth cloaks itself in the unrivalled beauty of its colourful landscape. The changing populations of flowers each with delightful colour and purpose. The early bold display arising from a winters sleep is soon overwhelmed by the spring blooms. Now it is fall, time to put it all away. Time to harvest the crops and to bring the abundance of the land into your home.
The Earth sustains us, as it sustains all of its creatures. The powerful bear, preparing for a long winters nap, will fill itself on the fall berries. Berries for the pregnant mother, berries for the tiny infant to be born next spring. All in a prepared cycle of life and living.
The powerful bear will sleep a blissful winters sleep, away from the curious, the elements and the cold. The wild land will provide a soft, dry den of quiet protection and the mighty bear will drift into a tranquil rest. The earth provided an abundant harvest and the bear will arise with cubs in the spring.
The changing seasons is a changing world for us as well.
The season of the harvest is a time of plenty.
No one is hungry here. No humans, no wildlife, no creatures. The earth provides for what it creates and the wild sustains the wild.
No plunder here. The immense landscape protects a tiny fraction of the populace of wildlife that the earth creates. This small tract of land continually provides for grazing animals, hungry predators and contented birds. The web of life and the interwoven dependence of life is fulfilled in some small, protected lands where encroachment is limited and hunting prohibited. These select few are an example of the biodiversity of the planet. One small area of pristine environmental integrity, set aside for the earth to decide.
In these small areas, the earth chooses the numbers and variety of the species of plant and animal life. Mankind is a visitor to these realms. These realms of abundance, no poverty, no plunder, no starvation here. These are the sanctuaries of the planet, no matter how large, they are too small. Too small for the vast numbers of fishes in the waters, too small for the vast numbers of birds in the sky, too small for the populace herds of ungulates and too small for the density of predators. Here, the earth lives, its populations thrive, it plants its seeds of joy, of regrowth of rebirth.
Almighty human, sighs the earth, I need more.

A path of delight

Good morning Brave hearts.

Hail brilliant mankind.
A lifetime of beauty and serenity awaits you in the grand adventure of the wild. The peaceful quiet, the wonderful aromas, the clean, unpolluted waters, the immense landscape, the fabulous wildlife. The joy of an escape into peace. A timeless oasis of splendor for the senses, an awakening, a rejuvenation, a moment in time where all is well and the good Earth breathes it’s regular breaths and it’s heart pounds with regular beating. Here, the Earth lives!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4E40lwh53ec forest tranquility message.

We feel the soft path under our feet, mosses growing in the shaded forest beside. Wild grasses and wild flowers tightly competing for a particle of soil to secure themselves to. The meadows are lush with vegetation. Insects thrive on the nectar and birds thrive on the insects. A perfect environment, a perfect interaction of life and the continuation of living.
Here, in the wilderness, the Earth lives.
Every inch of it’s surface is covered by plants. The seasonal changes of plant life, from a planet so creative, it continually changes it’s cover.
Now, it is fall. The seed pods are a burst of energy for new life. The tiny seed becomes a flower of exquisite colour and beauty. The proud planet, showing off it’s own newborn.
Here the planet chooses for itself. It plants it’s own lush creation of plants, the number and variety. It feeds it’s own creation of insects and wildlife. It chooses it’s own abundance, beauty, colour and scent. Here, in the great wild, where the wind pollinates the plants and rain nurtures the ground, is where the planet shows us her finest designs.
A tangle of forest, a carpet of meadow, every colour of green imaginable. Here, where the ponds match the colour of the sky, where every plant species is a different colour of green. Even in the fall, when the early frost changes the colour of the leaves, this is not a dying world. This is the time of rejuvenation. In this time of quiet, the animals will mate, the flowers will sow their seeds, the migrating birds will fly and the land prepares for a restful winters sleep. The Earth too, needs it’s time of restful calm.
The joy of an unhurried escape along a path of simple pleasure. A day of acquaintance with nature and its wonderful ways. Simple, gentle breezes wafting pleasant smells of plants so fragrant. The sounds of calling birds and the cascading waters of small waterfalls reminding us that we have nourishment here.
The discovery of a path of luxury. The luxury to have unspoilt lands, unpolluted waters, clean, fresh air. The luxury to protect, to conserve, to walk the great wild.
Here, we don’t plunder. Here we save.
The Earth smiles at us and presents her glory.
Brilliant mankind, come to the great wild. Let the fabulous good Earth nurture your soul and sing it’s songs of gladness to you.
Peace to you, brave hearts, nurture and care.

Come with me

Come with me

Into the great wild.
Into an adventure of peaceful delight, where the gentle breezes warm your body and the sun filled meadows delight your senses. The playful butterfly drinking the last of the seasons nectar and the grasshoppers leaping in the tall grasses. The wild life leave only footprints to indicate their presence, the occasional scat of wolves and bear indicate a balance of life and the songs of birds, hawks and ducks fill the air with their calls. The berries are abundant, there are several signs of bears.
The great wild.
As usual, the wildlife are elusive and although our presence is known to them, they hide from us. We, like them, will leave only footprints. We, like them, will pass through the meadows disturbing as little as possible.
Lucky are we, to have the great wild.

Lucky are we to be the only humans in this vast landscape. A retreat for us. A welcome change in the daily routine. A back country trip of awesome wonder, fabulous scenery, a remote distance, a genuine pleasure.
Here, the mountain steams provide necessary water. Clear, clean water. We fill our cups to drink. The great Earth provides unpolluted water from numerous streams as we pass by. The great Earth provides and we, oh great human, have the great good fortune to inherit such wonder.
The protection of vast tracts of land for preservation, conservation and environmental security is a necessary gift to us.
The wildlife need their uninterrupted peace where the daily drama of their own lives can be fulfilled. We too, need uninterrupted peace, where our own minds rest and relax. We need the great wild. The calling birds, the swaying, dance of flowers, the brilliant colour, the songs of animals.
On these glorious fall days, the land was gentle to us. The sun warmed us and the streams cooled us. We could drink from the unpolluted waters of the Earth. In two glorious days, a lifetime passed. Gone were the worries of the world, the distant workplace vanished from the conscious mind into a void. No more thoughts of daily disturbances, no more the sounds of traffic. The silence greets us with restful, deep sleep and the meditative calm of nature soothes the soul.
Here, mankind, sighs the great Earth. This is a gift to you. Protect as much as you can. The great wild is a precious and fragile gift, it restores your soul, it sings to your heart and it relaxes your mind. There is no war in the great wild. There is only the daily interaction of nature as it plays out its own life. The nurturing wild. It calls us to protect it. Save us mankind. Save yourselves. Here is the land of plenty.

Today

Good Day to you, greatness.

This is the day. Shall we choose the precious orb of life, the great oasis, the creation, the power, the unending beauty, the adventure, the life? Shall we choose the awesome wonder, the star struck heavens, the celestial glory?
Shall we walk with our ancestors into the adventure, any adventure. The adventure of culinary delights, of myth and fantasy, of strength and beauty, of daring, of nurture, of places and time, of the future, of structure, of creation. The adventure of compassion, of caring, of daring to take a stand, for our todays, our yesterdays and our tomorrows.
Hear me, almighty man, calls the ocean. I rock your boats, you play in my waves, the sound of the waters lulls you with tranquil rest. The water sounds soothe the raw nerves and the playful waterfalls entice.
Hear me almighty man, calls the wind. I rustle the branches and whistle through your windows. I am your gentle breezes, your thunderstorms and your weather.
Hear me almighty man, cries the great forest, our lives takes your breath away.
The planet moans from its depths, 7 billion.
In one square kilometre the earth easily houses 5000 people. In one square kilometer it would also house 5000 plant and animal beings.
The oasis comes to mind, the Serengeti, the Amazon, the Ross Sea.

The Ross Sea

The Ross Sea

Hail, oh brilliant mankind.
Rejoice in life everlasting, in a world of beauty and adventure. In a world of pristine places, enchanting beauty, thrilling adventure.
Hail mankind for being the glorious perceivers of it all.
To venture into the great wild, to swim and play in the clear, clean waters. To feast on the bountiful harvest and to reap the rewards of the great planet.
Hail mankind, for achieving your duty to yourselves. All aptitudes are praised, all are accepted, all are achieved. Your duty to yourselves is accomplished. The world has quieted its throngs of birds and massive migration of wildlife. The quiet is upon us and the tranquil waters soothe the soul.
Peace. Peace to you almighty man. Rest your weary head. So much to do, so much to see, so much to accomplish. One day, only this day, but it is the only day.
Soon mankind, the great planet will concede.
Gone will be the sound of the nesting birds, gone will be the seafaring life, gone will be the catch of the day, the pride of the mariner, the joy of the ocean festivals. Gone will be the harvest from the sea, the way of life, the nets cast into the seas and filled with food. Gone will be the fisheries and the awe inspired by the interplay of aquatic life. The varieties that intrigue us and the nourishment that sustains us.
Throughout our histories the sea has always provided. The catch of the day has always been on our menus and we have always relied on the ocean to provide. Almighty man, the weary wildlife can sustain us no more. The plunder is too great and there are too many to feed.
Awesome human, the last refuge of the great ocean is too fragile for your needs.

http://www.lastocean.org/Ross-Sea/Last-Ocean-New-Zealand–__I.103

The call to the great wild has always been a bold and courageous endeavor for the human. Fraught with dangers, roaring rivers, waterfalls, blistering heat, freezing temperatures, predators, cliffs, injury, hunger. Yet the pristine wilderness lures us with adventure. The call to the wild is a call of emotion. The wild! It`s for your soul, for your heart and for your mind. It temps us with it`s imagination, it`s unknown perils, it challenges, it`s adventure. It calls us still.
It calls us to paint the great landscape and whatever dwells within. It calls us to roam the hillsides and test our athletic strengths and it call us to compassion, to nurture and care. To see the world from the eyes of the creator. All of this for you blessed human, nurture and care.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_Sea

No plunder, no greed, only the moral man, the blessed human with contract in hand.
Save us, almighty human, sighs the great planet. Plunder no more.
The wild species only produce to their food source. As their food source declines, they also decline. The food chain is interrupted. No food for the hungry, no rest for the weary, your nets will be empty, the love song will end and they will reproduce no more.
Hail, to you almighty human, with contract in hand, to end it all or to save it all, rejoice and be happy, oh great human, for life never ending and for prosperity to all.
