Happy Birthday to Us

Good Day Brave hearts

A Happy Canada Day to you.

Today we celebrate the birthday of this great country. A village from the forest. A dream of national identity. A work of unity of life and lifestyle in a land so vast and diverse. The land, the people, the projects, all individually styled for an outcome of diversity and praises for all of it. The great land with its majestic mountains, it’s sweeping prairie, it’s thousands of lakes, it’s forests, it’s tundra, it’s landscapes so unique and awesome. The great land, filled with great people, great places, great adventure and great belonging.

Fill your cup, with the endless opportunity of Canada! The opportunity for exploration is immense, with so much enjoy. We are the second largest country in the world and have so much to see and to discover. The valuable history of sharing and caring for each other. The widespread plains of homesteaders striving to build a country from sea to shining sea. The great north, so wild and free.

This is our Canada. A vast and brilliant home to us. A place of nurturing our spirits, of learning, of wisdom. This is the country that we made ourselves, from our skills, our intelligence, our passions, and our sense of community. We built this. We chose this. We collectively decided that this is the Canada that we want, that we love and that is our home. We made this place special to us, ourselves.

This fabulous world of the wilderness and the great wild, is home for us. We save it because we adore it. It speaks to us, to adventure, to explore, to challenge ourselves to be smart, educated, strong and daring. This great land calls us to retain ancestral roots which tie us to a past time of athletic adventure, community and ingenuity. It calls us to the present, of eco tourism, the food supply, the great cities. It calls us to our future, to retain it all, to be proud, to learn from each other and to share our knowledge with each other. It calls us. Each and every Canadian, to do our duty of care for this great nation. This great country that we call our home.

It is with great pleasure that we celebrate this birthday. 133 years of a community of people spread out over a vast countryside of unique places to live in and to visit. The differences in cultures, in heritage, in ties that bind us. We are not all the same, but we are. We are all different, but we are one. We are all diverse, but we are the same. This is how we choose to be. Individual, healthy, strong, with a courage to be culturally diverse and still be united. To live together in multicultural unity. This is our goal and one of our freedoms. Respect for each other and for the intellect that brings us peace and opportunity under a flag that flies so freely.

Happy Birthday Canada. May our dreams remain alive. May our hopes be fulfilled. May our way of life survive us. May we be filled with the glory of this great nation. Happy Birthday, Canada. May you live forever!

Canada Day, 2020

Are We Cursed?

Hail Brave hearts

It’s quiet.  The days are long and the sounds are different.  Less traffic, less chatter, fewer people.  The night is quiet.  No street noise late at night.  More rest and relaxation, more time for self reflection and self interest.  An unusual change in reality.  The business of our lives has vanished, to be replaced with long days of self isolation and social distancing.  Communication skills and life skills have changed.  We vanish into the isolation of family.

Business winds down and phone lines are still.  The rush of commercialism has changed from endless shopping to buying masks.  Social skills have become social distancing.  The latest craze is hand sanitizer. We will learn to be clean, cleaner than we’ve ever been, by simply washing our hands.  Don’t touch your face. Wear a mask.

This new dilemma is an outstanding challenge of perseverance.  We win this.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

We win this for ourselves and for the lifestyles that we covet.  We win this for our families whose affection we cherish.  We win this, as if we are fighting a war.  It’s a virus, but it’s a substantial foe.  An odd set of circumstances bring us to this awful place, our lust to see new worlds.  The insatiable curiosity of other lands, other peoples, other worlds to travel to.  A holiday, a honeymoon, a business trip, a cultural exchange, all tourism, and the fine mechanism of money.

Bring me riches, bring me gold, bring me markets, bring me wealth.  Be it imperialistic plunder, or grass roots peasantry, bring me humans by the score.  The tourist dollars go round and round, round and round, round and round, all through the town.

An unprecedented disaster occurs which brings a dreadful halt to our wealth building module.  No tourists, no money.  No money, no gain.  So much of our time and energy has been absorbed in tourism, that now, the problem arises, how do we return the wheels of fortune?  What is our plan B?  With this economic strategy falling, what brilliance will replace it?  What dollars and sense will catapult us to economic recovery?

Slowly we return to the normal world of prosperity.  Build it, oh financial geniuses, build it with magic and wizardry.   Paint the pallet black, so that the recovery is complete, oh you awesome doctors of mathematics.

Meanwhile, what we can enjoy from this pandemic, since it befalls us, is the quiet solitude of our new found wealth.  Time.  Time to be home with recipes to try, with exercise class, online courses, email, documentaries, online business, social media. Time to indulge in a hobby, a new lifestyle, a project.  Time to change and to be new.  Time to rejuvenate and to emerge from the cocoon  as a butterfly.

The recovery strategy is markets, be it foreign or domestic, but business has always been the money wheel.  There are always other strategies.  The strategy of self help and learning, of exploration within Canada, of athletics and education.  A different wealth is offered.  A wealth of time, of restriction, of poverty.  The wealth that demands that people stay home, enjoy their own place, discover their own good fortune of the new, the unusual, the uniqueness of their own land.  This is a new age of discovery, of being the tourist in your own homeland.  This is the restriction of no money, when we can’t afford international travel.  Save us!  Save us from the devil that calls this a sin.  Save us from the mind that abhors it.  The self indulgent traveler who knows their own homeland, like the maps, the parks, the novels that are written for it.  Sing to us, oh great traveler, who recognizes those place names  and can check them off their bucket list.  The growing names of unknown places, waiting for a visit.

Joy to us, for the pleasure of this compromise.  No international travel, stay home and enjoy your place.   Joy to us, for this restriction of our poverty.  It is with great pride, that we present to ourselves, our own great nation.

Our travels become close at hand, perhaps only within the province.  Lucky are we, for this gigantic misfortune.  We have it to ourselves.  All of this beauty and magnificence, that we show off to the world, is just for us right now.

It’s for us, you awesome human.  This oasis in the universe is for us.

Multicultural You

Multicultural You

Hail Bravehearts

A brave new day, a brilliant country, a national holiday, a celebration of pride, joy and togetherness.  This great nation, molded and blended, nurtured and cherished.  A great Canada, a fabulous notion, a clever and brilliant place.  Multicultural you, with freedoms and rights.  The freedom to live without violence, to live in neighbourly contact with people of different nationalities, the right to live without arms and to protect yourselves, keeping your community safe and secure..

The laws protect our culture but still frees us from oppression.  No tyrants or dictators, to enslave us.  The contract with the people is peace among us, no cultural quarrels or religious disputes.  An age old negotiation that protected these rights, have been handed down and protected, for hundreds of years.  Multicultural Canada, with its birth in French and English culture, both completely different, yet somehow it works.  Hammer out the contract, write the laws, guarantee the freedom.  The evolving wisdom of ages past, becomes the fulfilling society of our present.  Strong and united, the worlds peoples share this land.  From ancient aboriginal ways to the escaping refugee, the weave of a mosaic of multicultural heritage enhances our lives, gives us richness in people and culture and ingrains an intelligence of peace among us.  United in freedom, mutual caring, the sharing of this country is our shining past, our fabulous present and our brilliant future.

We are unique in our history.  A land of harsh and somewhat unconquerable climate, of difficult terrain and a short growing season.  A majestic land of wild forests and tumbling rivers, of curious peoples and language barrier.  Still, the nation was won through negotiation and peace, love and marriage, barter and exchange.  The cultures blend, learn and accept, we are all different, we are all one.  Our wise past is still our present, still our future, still our bright and shining star.  That star that guides us and beckons us to follow, into your unique and inspiring country.  Into your fellowship and merciful negotiation, into the nation of democratic law and democratic peace.

Hail, oh Canada, as the years roll by and the world changes, the battles die and the wars subside, into your dreams of international peace, where all peoples live under the shelter of laws of freedom.  Peaceful freedom, oh multicultural you.  Write your songs, sing your hearts out, brilliant praises to our national cause.

A Christmas Wish

A Christmas Wish

Hail Bravehearts

During this joyous time of festive celebration, comes a life of dear, immortal being.  A life of wonder, of hope, of salvation.  A gift to this great planet and joy to all who know it.

In the quiet of winter, when the snow lies on the ground, when the deep chill of cold, freezes our blood, and hurries us along the street to our cozy homes, comes a time of celebration and fun.  Gifts are purchased, goodwill is upon us.  A treasure of wealth in human compassion leaps to the forefront of our ways.  Donations to the poor and hampers of food.  We  shine at this time of year.  We are happy and filled with joy.  This is that special, high holiday time, when the blessings of a savior and the memory of a holy birth remind us of the joy of giving .  A gift.  A life of cherished teachings.  A life of inspiration and a life of generosity.

Life, birth, creation.  Each and every one of us contains that gift of life.  A miracle of the wonder of creation.  It is a reminder to us, during these happy days, that a child of magnificence came into our world.  Praises and glory, mighty and immortal.  A child of greatness, born in a  stable.  Kindness to the creatures of the Earth.  The heavenly Angels sing in praises, the majesty of kings, who know the wisdom, the Shepherds  who follow the star, the animals who watch in silence.  The Heavens and the Earth are filled with gladness.  This is an event for us all.

Teachings of wisdom for those great minds.  Teachings of wonder that compel the masses, teachings of acceptance to all who witness.  Teachings of compassion to the animals who watch in silence.  All of the creatures great and small.  All of the life on this great planet.

The adored!  The wonder of immaculate birth.  The joy of a being, so divine.  All encompassing love.  All needed creation.  The spirit of life shines in us and the spirit of love is within us.

Holy child of divine conception,  holy child of life immortal.  The breath of these teachings fills our world and the joy of creation fills our senses.

Oh happy life that gives us caring.  A happy life with the gift of giving, community, hope and mutual sharing.  Mutual sharing of bread and food.  Mutual sharing of holiday gifts.  Mutual sharing of a supportive community.  The light of life that makes us smile, that brings a treasure of support and acceptance.  Oh happy world, where we are all human beings, where race and color vanishes to oblivion.  Oh happy world where the creatures sing, oh glory, glory to this king.

We are all the creation of a God most high, whose intellect and benevolence nurtures our being.

Hail, you almighty persons of this planet.  Join with us in this season’s celebrations.  Kind and caring, end the suffering,  the plight of the homeless, the less fortunate, the poor.  Our holiday wishes are to bring an end to starvation and poverty.

Dear Mothers

Dear Mothers

Good morning Brave hearts

The celebration of life and love is a gift to you on the day that we celebrate mothers.
Dear mothers, a moment of your time, a life of care and nurturing, a protector, a supporter and a keeper of our memories. Our childhood moments of daring and brilliance, of adventure and imagination, of creativity and spontaneity. For us, the passing of time as we learn and explore. For our mothers, the moments of cherished memories of a child, so young and adored, so carefully nurtured. A being, brought into her life, with a purpose and destiny of it’s own.
Dear mothers, the light of that life dawns in the early morning and persists until the evening quiet and dark. The time consuming effort of endless hours spent in loving and hugging and kissing the infant. The demanding child, so
needing and fragile. The reward, to be a lifetime of gifted human love and compassion.
Dear mothers, you rock the cradle and the world listens, as you proclaim your love for your offspring. Happy child, nurtured child, hurt or brooding, the humanity persists in zealous comforting. Rich or poor, the mother gives whatever she is capable of giving. The constant demands of society, to raise this child to its potential. The demand to fulfill the duty, to herself, the family, to the socially accepted norm.
Dear mothers, the matrimonial pledge extends even moreso to the child, in sickness or in health, for richer or for poorer, until death do us part. The child is that part of us that we can’t let go of, that can’t be erased or replaced. That sums of money don’t equal, that can’t be negotiated, that’s carved in stone. Nurture and care, oh wise ones. The world is watching, and your precious offspring are your major calling.
Dear mothers, as you watch the growing child, with pride for their achievements, for always getting up after a fall, for forever running and playing, studying and befriending, the growing human becoming an adult. The work, the devotion, the endless play and support, the all time consuming act of nurture and love, to be lavished upon this blessing, this child.
Dear mothers, it never ends. The child grows and becomes an adult, a champion in your eyes. The effort was painless, the life so fulfilling, a reward just to meet your aquaintance. Mother and child, a bond never ending, a life time of companionship, of conversation, of devotion and care.

Now mother, we look upon you with praise and adoration, with gratitude for affection, for time and for energy, for teaching, for nurturing and for love. The time spent surpasses the endless days of endless chores, of duty, of routine, of work and social demands. The time spent in teaching, in learning, in conversation and in play. For in mother there is beauty and grace, knowledge and skill, intelligence and love.

So on this day, dear mother, we praise you and thank you. A day set aside for you.
Happy Mother’s Day.

Masters

Good morning, you brilliant ones.
The stars shine upon you and the sun casts it’s warmth to you and you are saved.
Hail, brave hearts, rise to the glory of this day, for this is a day for you, for your being, for adventure and play. Cast out the curse of the devil and the downtrodden, the debilitating foe of criticism and malice. The tormentor, whose evil plays on your self- esteem and discourages your ambition. Don’t take chances, whispers the devil, stay home, it says, don’t go out to play.
Sometimes, for your safety, those words are correct, but too often the fears of the devil make us weak. Too often that voice penetrates the mind and reduces enthusiasm or motivation. Too often the devil speaks with cunning, undermining criticism. Beware the devil, oh brilliant ones, he speaks to everyone and he speaks with abuse. To truly achieve, the devil must be silenced and the strong will of a determined mind, obeyed.
The devil will tell you to sleep in, that your body isn’t strong, that your mind is poor, that your destiny is shallow and eventually, that you are a slave.
Courage, oh brilliant ones. Stay on your course, no success was ever achieved by listening to the belittling remarks of the devil.
Sleep, oh dreamy heads, calls the devil. Eat and gorge yourselves, plunder and kill. For what is might but to be mighty. What is strength, but to be strong. To wield a weapon and to be feared.
The inner devil is a debilitating master. A foe of persistent and domineering presence who commands laziness, asks for cake, don’t run, only drive. Don’t recycle, says the devil, cast it on the ground. Let the earth clean itself, to the growing number of human inhabitants.
The devil tempts with short term gain, a treat for the taste buds, but a mind boggling danger to the body. Too much sugar, too much alcohol, too many vices. The body aches and grows old in weary intolerance of the growing number of contaminates the body consumes. Poor food quality, poor water quality, poor air quality. Plunder and abuse, the earth, the water, the animals and the humans. Fell the forest, burn it to the ground. Our common sense is confused by the contradictions of experts. Loss of property, loss of habitat, pollution, over development. Kill, says the devil, and down it comes. Murder, says the devil and plunder calls us. Death says the devil and society rocks in turmoil and crime.
Flea, says the devil, arm yourselves, the enemy is everywhere. Hysteria and hardship follow the devil and he speaks a language of destruction and despair. War to the planet, victims everywhere. No mercy, no life.
The brave will come forward and cast out the devil. Be strong, oh brave hearts, it persists everywhere. Take charge of your mind and overrule the persistent devil that entraps you into complacency and weakness. The devil, who wastes your days and fills your time with idleness. The devil, who ignores your health, who causes inferiority, who develops life reducing habits.
Silence the devil, oh brave hearts and build your strong and healthy lives.
To your success.

The Child

Greetings, may joy and gladness fill your hearts and may your mind be at peace.
Praises, for this day!
Praises for this day of blessing, where all of the world hears the name of the righteous one, the holy one, the blessed child. For unto us this day, a child is born who is Christ the Lord.
The world sings the song of gladness, praises to the almighty human, the moral man, the man cast in human cloth rising to fulfill a destiny of peace, love, humanity, nurture and care. A world without end, without war. A world with only wonder and awe, of inspiration and sharing. A world of peace.
Brilliant human, who hears the call to gracious living, hear the song. The song of peoples giving thanks, peoples praying for peace, peoples sharing the planet. The song of joy and love in your hearts. The song of an end to war, to poverty, to shame.
Hear us, moral human, as we rise to this day to celebrate the birth of the savior. This day of joy and peace, from a manger.
From a lowly birth rises a brilliant mind, an immense spirit, a blazing heart and a dauntless soul. The spirit will never die, the work will never end.
Joy to all of you on this blessed day. Peace always.
